PHOENIX, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Universal
Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE: UTI), one of the nation's leading
providers of technical education training, today announced that
it has entered into a training alliance with Toyota Motor Sales
U.S.A., Inc., to develop Toyota Professional Automotive Technician
(TPAT), a new Toyota and Lexus brand-specific training program.
The TPAT program, a three-phase, nine-week elective program, will
allow UTI students to train on Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including
Toyota's newest models, the Scion and Prius gas-electric hybrid
automobiles. "Because of Toyota's strength in the marketplace
and commitment to customer satisfaction, we are excited to offer

professional technicians for Toyota dealerships and improved employment
opportunities for our graduates." "OEM relationships,
such as the one with Toyota, are important to our company as we
work to supply the demand for qualified automotive technicians
that currently exists in the automotive industry. Not only do
our relationships with top automotive manufacturers help drive
enrollment at our campuses, but they also provide UTI with financial
sponsorship, equipment and product support, as well as access
